Violence against women is the most widespread violation of human rights, and Afghanistan is by far one of the most challenged countries when it comes to ensuring women a safe and self-sustainable life. Additional restraint to securing appropriate measures for service delivery to VAW survivors is the negative perception and portrayal of the work of WPCs in the public debate. This is evident in the media coverage on VAW service delivery and is as well documented in many reports. Therefore, DAWEO deems it necessary to have awareness raising activities to contribute in eliminating violence against women and supporting women. It has been contributing in this cause since 2012.
